Why, AZ? Because!

Organ Pipe Cactus at sunset. We’ve been kidnapped by two gals and a guy in Why, AZ, where Hwy 85 meets 86. It’s a lovely place in the desert, where cacti, bunnies, butterflies, and javalinas hang out.

We met De and CayC north of San Francisco and kept in touch to help out with ArtUnited.org. They are staying with Buzz, a generous man who doesn’t mind all these women hooked up to his electric and water. It’s like a mini RV park here.

We took a day to drive to Mexico for medicine and tamales. On the way home we stopped at the Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument vistor’s center. We had to take the circle through the park before sunset. It was awesome!

I’m in the middle of scoring projects for my WS 320 Gender and Technology course and expect to be done this weekend before we take off to New Mexico. The weather has been freezing at night and hot during the day, but in NM and Texas, there has been very cold, icy weather. So it’s good we’re staying. We pass the time sleeping, eating tamales, playing in the dirt (Maya), and playing Golf; a quick and fun card game.
