In the Bay Area

We made it here today, after very harried driving. IF we’d crossed the bridge when it was less foggy, we WOULD HAVE seen the picture at the right. But we did not; we saw nothing.

Our two days in SF have been wonderful except for a few minor set backs. First the fun stuff: We enjoyed the Maritime National Park where you can explore the big ships, Ben and Jerry’s ice cream, Chinese food, Sushi, Mascone Center food court and playground, SFMOMA, and the loud RAP concert next to our park at Candlestick Park (now called Monster Park). Our last day here has been spent walking to the pier at Candlestick. It’s not a well-kept park, but it has some great features: no-permit fishing off the pier, an interactive musical sculpture, and lots of pelicans fishing.

Now the weird stuff. I was harrased by a drunk running around in his robe in the RV park. I was snidded by three different men on the phone when I asked about replacing my blown tire. One put me on hold for a very long time because he didn’t have the patience for my questions. When I tried to pay the Cable Car conductor, he refused my money three times and even yelled at me to get on the back (of the car). So I quit trying to pay. Do you see a pattern here? Please enlighten me.

Next week we’ll be at Yosemite National Park. Not sure we’ll have internet.
