Experience Music Project (EMP)

And here’s the beginning of some song lyrics I wrote on the lyrics wall at EMP (you know; those magnetic words for the fridge):
Did you understand the old song?
Know wording. Know tempo.
Walk the rhythm around our town.
Get there–inside.
Yeah.
Hear.
Yeah.

OK back to work.

EMP\'s building is purple!
It’s 10:44am; 12 hours after Maya fell asleep. She’s still asleep. I think she’s worn out from visiting the EMP, taking 3 bus rides, and eating late. Wait, there she is!

Experience Music Project is one of the best museums. Period. I learned so much, including how to play the guitar, drums, and blues on the keyboard. Maya and I played “I Love Rock and Roll” before a crowd of thousands. We called ourselves The Blue Shirts. We opted not to buy our own DVD because of the expense, but we have the tickets to prove we did it! We danced on the Hip Hop floor, learned to sing backup, and stratched and grooved a new song. We were there from noon to 5 and didn’t realize it until our tummy’s growled.

Did you know Hip Hop was born in 1973? The four elements of include writing/graffiti (paint), Bboying (dance), DJing (music/beat), and MCing (emceeing lyrics/rhymes). Here’s a genre learned about–EMO, or emotional punk, which started in the mid 1980s. Listen to Dashboard Confessional.
