I’ve sold the other two of this composition, so felt compelled to paint it again.

I find painting ripples a challenge to render and they are quite different every time I do them.

When painted on Claybord, it is tougher to get smaller ripples. I’ll try it again on Gessobord to accomplish that.

This is the first of three paintings started en plein air this week at Taft, Oregon, south of Lincoln City. I forgot to bring more white with me, so the other two are waiting for a chance to be finished up.

The waves were dramatic this week but the bay was calm. Check back later this week.
