Tashi Choling of the Colestin Valley

Today we found a surprise in the hills above The Meadow House…Tashi Choling Mandala Garden and Temple for Vajrayana Buddhism. We wound our way up the railroad tracks to the Mandala Garden. Neither of us has been to a Buddhist temple grounds before. A student was sanding the White Tara stature to prepare for repainting. She showed us how to use the prayer wheels. I wrote this haiku to help remember what learned:

A piece of Tibet
hides quietly up the tracks.
Visit while open.

Vajrasattra sits
in the Mandala’s center
holding knowledge; wise.

Tara in green and
Tara in white teach us to
fear not, be well, love.

Prayers fly out the wheel.
Precious thoughts join the air; you
turn clockwise. Release!
