$100 SALE © Pam Van Londen 2007 Lake Parish 2 acrylic on canvas on 12 x 24 x 1.5 canvas
I’ll never forget the clear bright colors seen through and reflecting off the little Lake Parish in Georgia where we stayed for 2 days after visiting my cousin in Atlanta.
While selling work at the last Clothesline Sale of Art sponsored by the Corvallis Art Guild, I painted a version of the lake in a tall, skinny format (my favorite).
I enjoyed hearing children pass by with encouraging words and hope that I influenced them to paint in the future.
Artists dropped by to see how in the world I was able to paint in such heat. I guess I’m so used to painting outdoors in the heat that I just paint quickly and with reckless abandon (plus I spray the paints often to keep them from drying out).
This painting will get a few finishing touches before being hung around town somewhere.
