SOLD © Pam Van Londen 2009, Crows at the Beach 1, oil on 8×8 gessobord.
Birds provide endless entertainment at the beach. We saw more crows than gulls in Taft this summer.
Trying to capture them in flight is tricky. I almost missed this one.
I’m painting on gessobord instead of claybord for the next month to see if I like it better. Since the paint does not soak in so readily as it does on the clay, I have to be patient for the paint to dry more before working on top of other paint. You know how impatient I can be…we’ll see if I don’t switch back to clay.
Thank you to Kelly J Callahan for highlighting my work in her Obsessions of a Renaissance Women site and to J August Gerlach of Deep Time Threshold Art Movement (DTTAM) for showing my work.
