After a successful first run of my Building an Online Presence for Artists workshop at LBCC’s Benton Center this spring, I’ll be teaching it again this summer and fall. Instead of teaching it hands-on computer-lab style, I’ll present it seminar style so those artists and others with lower computer skills can spend more time asking questions and less time fiddling with an unfamiliar computer.
For more information, call me at 541-760-1449. To reserve your seat, call (541) 917-4929.
3:30 p.m. – 5 p.m. Thursdays
July 3- August 14, 2008
BC-244, Corvallis LBCC Benton Center, 757 NW Polk Ave.
I will present the many low-cost or free options available to artists and provide at-home exercises to help you create a web site, gallery, and shopping cart ready for patrons around the world. Discover the online presentation and sales methods that work best for your style, schedule, and budget. Incorporate an online
presence in your art marketing plan to help sell your work online, make residual income, and
stay in touch with your collectors while keeping the process simple. Here’s a rough schedule:
DAY 1: Overview and how to optimize images
DAY 2: Explore inventory systems and try a database or spreadsheet
DAY 3: Explore Google tools and try Google Docs and iGoogle
DAY 4: Review blogs and set up one account
DAY 5: Review of galleries and set up one account
DAY 6: Review of affiliations and stores and set up one account
DAY 7: Present attendee web sites and discuss promotional options
“I’ve enjoyed your workshop and hope to incorporate lots of the ideas into my blog/website as soon as I have more time and develop more computer skills. I did learn quite a bit despite this being a difficult subject for me and I appreciate your knowledge and enthusiasm.”
