I’m glad pears last a long time when sitting on the counter. I will keep painting this pair of pears until they are ready to eat.

One of my friends/clients/art patrons has been looking at pear paintings, which motivated me to finally paint one. I have not painted a pear since I was in collage oh so many years ago.

This one is painted very loosely in acrylic on Claybord. I like painting as messily as possible….so much fun!

Tomorrow’s pear is red. Stay tuned.

For last week’s Daily Paintworks Balance Challenge, I picked three of my colorful bowls and added a peach, to match the bottom plate.

Then I added the customary purple background, to match the rest of the Food on the Table series of still life paintings I’ve been adding to for 5 years.

I’ve painted a couple of car portraits to show at the Driving Canby Fun event on June 11. We’ll be camping and shaking hands with car fans from all over Oregon and Washington.

I’ve painted this one to meet the Daily Paintworks challenge. I’ve used my usual loose style in oil on Claybord.

It’s hard to get the really saturated colors present on the shiny purple giftbag…it reflects a lot of permanent rose but purple diazinon does not dry shiny…it dries flat, so perhaps later I’ll add a shiny varnish.

Yes, I drank the cocoa. Mmmmm.

Here’s another pepper to go with the series of 3. One is sold and I might paint more, depending on how long the peppers stay fresh-looking.

Get them while they’re hot! Salsa paintings make great gifts. I’ve painted peppers 8 times now and really enjoy the color scheme.

These are part of my Food on the Table series. I have blue plates and red tables, so they reflect my personal kitchen.

This month’s Painting Challenge is a typical August still life…a picnic with watermelon.

It is a joy to sit outside and paint with your girlfriends. Nobody judges and we enjoy catching up on family happenings.

Denise and her husband have quite a garden in the middle of town, along with chickens and dogs.

The strawberries are excellent to eat and brightly colored for painting.
